Birding (lists) made EASY! A wonderful application that takes the hassle out of keeping your bird tick lists updated manually - having used the manual method (pen and paper) for many years, this program is more than what any birder can dream of! Seamless usage - I really LOVE the smartsearch facility that shrinks the list of possibilities as you type in the name of the bird. The export facility to a CSV file that contains all information of the sighting is just what I needed! The SABAPII functionaility will add amazing ease of use to all SABAPII member's submissions. Great app - LYNX Nature - you really made my (birding) day! :-)

Listing and atlassing! I love how I can switch between any of the preset regions and it can then automatically determine a national list for me. And I can set locations up, and even locations within locations... And then I can call up lists for anywhere I've birded before. I never was a lister, but this just makes it so easy! I started using Lynx Birdticks for simplifying my atlassing admin... It is better than I ever dreamt of! It saves me at least 20 minutes of submission time for every pentad I atlass. It even tells me when I am entering or leaving a pentad. And incidental submissions are immediate! If the tick is made with the GPS activated, all you need to do is click submit and your tick is in the SABAP2 database! Amazing for travelling

For All Birders I love this app. It makes ticking your birds super easy. Its sort function is amazing. You can make any kind of list you want. Your life list, your list for the Kruger Park, your list for a particular trip to the KNP, and even a list for each rest camp in KNP if you would like that too, as well as lists for all the Pentads that you atlassed in KNP - on each trip! The SABAP2 functionality is great, and it includes very easy submission of Full Protocol, Ad hoc and Incidental Lists directly from your phone, if you have reception :) I did not list birds until this app came along, or do much atlassing (2 cards), but with this app I am now on my 12th card. Also there is a great FaceBook page with excellent service and quick answers to all, even the most basic, of questions.

Lynx BirdTicks Southern Africa

A program for Android devices that enables you to record bird sightings in Southern Africa and manage sightings lists in an easy and efficient way.

NOTE: This program does not help with bird identification. It works on the presumption that the bird has already been identified, and then keeps track of the sighting record.

The main impetus for this program is to make logging your bird sightings (ticks) easy and quick (it only takes 1 long-tap to complete a basic tick), but also to enable you to maintain a detailed record of each sighting. Several features are built into the program to facilitate this (e.g. Quick-tick, Tick Edit while making the tick or later, Smart Search to quickly find the correct bird, multiple ordering methods, etc.). Furthermore it enables you to filter your ticks to easily show you specific ticks for selected criteria. The lists can be exported to a format that is easily opened by programs such as Excel, Access and other database systems.

The program also includes a full-featured mechanism to conduct SABAP2 (Southern African Bird Atlas Project 2) mapping, as well as a hassle-free, one-click, data submission feature. No more manual data entries for submission. Simply set up the card, make the ticks and submit the data!

The list of birds is based on Roberts 7 and endeavors to include all possible birds that can be found in this region, and includes possible vagrant and rare species. The list is updated automatically if there are any changes or additions, so it will always be up to date.

All screens are fixed in the portrait orientation.
